Pregnant woman brutalizes her 7-year-old nephew in Anambra for eating fish and failing to recite the English alphabet


 Mrs. Abigail Eguta, 24, a pregnant lady accused of brutalizing her seven-year-old nephew for eating fish and not being able to recite the English alphabet, was apprehended in Anambra State. 

  

On Tuesday, May 16, 2023, the victim, identified as Sunday, was taken to the office of the state commissioner for women's and social welfare, Ify Obinabo, where the woman was later captured. 

  

According to reports, Sunday is the biological son of Mrs. Eguta's sister, who she only recently moved in with. 

  

The youngster had been absent from school for a very long period. His body is covered with scars from earlier wounds that his guardian is said to have inflicted on him.


Mrs. Eguta claimed she beat the boy for eating the fish she bought for Sunday meal. She also confessed to beating him on Monday, for not reciting the English alphabet correctly, adding that it was the main reason she wounded him.

 
"I am very sorry. I didn't intend to blind him or beat him in the eyes, but I mistakenly did so. Please, forgive me, it is the handiwork of the devil,” she said.
