Kwara: Elerin of Erin-ile passes on at 81
Oba Erin Ile Oba AbdulGaniyu Ajibola Olusokun II (MFR), the elerin of Erin-Ile in the Kwara state's Oyun local government area, passed away at the age of 81.
The state administration made the announcement of the monarch's passing on Saturday through a statement from the CPS, Rafiu Ajakaye.
The Elerin of Erin Ile, Oba AbdulGaniyu Ajibola Olusokun II (MFR), passed away. Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the governor of the state of Kwara, expressed his condolences to the residents of Erin Ile and described the event as the end of an excellent era.
The Governor praised the late king in a statement on Saturday, praising him as a statesman and a strong leader of his people who saw Erin-Ile make tremendous advancements.
“I send our heartfelt condolences to the immediate and extended families of the late first class monarch as well as the good people of Erin-Ile and Oyun Local Government Area on this sad development. We are comforted by the great legacies of the monarch,” he said.
“Our prayers are with the family and the good people of the community at this time and always. We pray Allah, exalted is He, to grant Al-Jannah to the Elerin of Erin Ile and comfort his family.”
