Harvests of deaths in Nollywood: Odunlade Adekola begs God to put end to untimely death in Industry

The well-known Nollywood actor Odunlade Adekola has made a sincere appeal to God to intervene and put an end to the recent terrible deaths that have befallen the Nigerian entertainment business. This comes in response to the recent unfortunate fatalities that have plagued the sector.

Recently, news of several well-known movie stars who died within a short period of time flooded the Nigerian media.

On the morning of Saturday, May 13, 2023, Nollywood was plunged into sadness following the news of the passing of renowned Yoruba actor Mukaila Adedigba, alias Sikiru Adeshina.

When word of Obinna Nwafor, also known as Saint Obi, a prominent Nollywood actor, passing away at age 57, it came as Nigerians were still grieving for Adedigba. 

Only a Black Sunday followed the Black Saturday as Nigerians were once more shocked to learn of the passing of another actor. Murphy Afolabi, a well-known Yoruba actor, passed away.

Odunlade Adekola, who is well-known for his captivating demeanor and remarkable acting abilities, posted on social media to express his profound sadness over the death of brilliant people in the profession. He expressed his anguish in a moving post and prayed to God to step in and put an end to the tragedy befalling the Nollywood community.

He wrote, “Unquestionable you are the LORD. I PRAY GOD WILL CLOSE THE DOOR OF UNTIMELY DEATH IN OUR INDUSTRY AND IN THE HOUSE OF EVERY ONE OF US. IN JESUS NAME.”

The actor’s message resonated with fans, colleagues, and industry insiders who have also been mourning the loss of beloved actors and actresses in recent times.
