“Why marketing your project is important” Don Jazzy sends message to Nigerian artists, uses Davido as case study


 Music executive Don Jazzy has given guidance to artists by using singer Davido as a case study.


In a series of tweets, the CEO of Mavins encouraged up-and-coming musicians to promote their songs.


Despite his degree of fame, he pointed out that Davido has been aggressively marketing and promoting his record.


According to Don Jazzy, promoting a project you've worked hard on doesn't lower your swag.


“Dear artists hope you can see how Davido is marketing his album. He didn’t form oh I’m OBO so everybody will copy my shit. Marketing your beautiful project that you worked hard on does not reduce your swag”.


He was challenged by a tweep who claimed that many celebrities, especially musicians, frequently utilize giveaways to advertise their songs, but he allowed that Davido isn't well known for doing so.
